Each classroom at PIPS has a library corner where children can go to look at books independently by themselves or with friends. Books in the classroom are changed regularly to reflect what is being discussed in the classroom and to ensure children are exposed to a wide variety of books.
We also have a library with a variety of fiction and non-fiction books. Each class has a scheduled library time each week. During this time children go to the library to look at books, read stories and to choose a book to borrow for a week.
In the classroom and the library children are taught how to care for books and most importantly we hope to instill an early love for reading and books. We encourage parents to read to their children on a regular basis and to volunteer to help during their childˇ¦s library time.
